Glum Councillors, Out Standing in their Field

Posted by davidburbage on May 15, 2011

I forgot to link this one earlier, it really is class. Glum Councillors abound, some of them out standing in their fields. There are even “Gum Councillors” (ones who get upset at the amount of chewing gum left on the pavement labelled with “something to chew over”).

One featured councillor (pictured) is former Conservative Opposition Leader from Sutton Paul Scully.

Another is my colleague from Reading, Andrew Cumpsty !

Nice that humour isn’t totally absent from those observing local government….

An Amazing Night at the Royal Borough 2011 Local Election Count

Posted by davidburbage on May 6, 2011

Winning 51 seats out of 57, we delivered a thumping result and have taken back seats from the LibDems we haven’t held for 20 years.

A longer post will follow at some point over the weekend, but undoubtedly the national polling helped keep our opposition support to a minimum.
