Chatting with Merrick Cockell. Behind, you can see Margaret Eaton

Attended the annual IESE awards ceremony last night in London, we were shortlisted for 4 awards and won 2 of them !

Photos to follow; the Borough won the Transparency award (not many other Local authorities can have so directly influenced Party policy. Except Nottingham, all authorities have now followed our £500 spending transparency lead!) and a Waste innovation award Рfor the Recyclebank programme, which has been much covered here.

Berkshire’s Elections just 47 days away

Posted by davidburbage on March 19, 2011

top – me (Windsor and Maidenhead), Graham Jones (West Berkshire), Paul Bettison (Bracknell Forest)

bottom – Andrew Cumpsty (Reading), David Lee (Wokingham).

We all have elections on 5th May, the top three of us are all-out; every seat is up for election. The lower two have 1/3 elections with a variety of seats being elected.

Slough also has elections by 1/3 this time but is the only Berkshire unitary that doesn’t have a Conservative Leader !
