We Win! Labour Lose!

Posted by davidburbage on March 26, 2010

Unfortunately, this is about the 3rd Runway proposals, in the High Court rather than at the General Election. That’s still to come, fingers crossed.

But still, fantastic stuff and a total vindication of the action we’ve taken on behalf of residents to help prevent vast airport expansion and the demolition of Sipson village. Avid blog readers may remember I was recently tree planting in Sipson to create an orchard of apple trees at “Airplot” with the campaigners against the 3rd Runway.

Here is a picture of Cllr Bicknell (back right) at the High Court this morning with various other familiar Westminster faces (John MacDonnell, Justine Greening, Susan Kramer).

Scary Graph

Posted by davidburbage on March 24, 2010

This handsomely illustrates the complete and utter failure of Labour’s economic management in the last few years. Bankrupting the country by spending money on the public sector that we simply do not have.

Fake Lobbying Scam didn’t fool the Tories

Posted by davidburbage on March 21, 2010

A spokesman for the Labour Party said he did not think that any of its MPs had been approached by Anderson Perry.

but the Labour Party were wrong, weren’t they?!

No evidence the LibDems were involved. But then, why should they be?

Royal Borough Expenses policy incorporated into Technology Manifesto

Posted by davidburbage on March 12, 2010

I’m not sure if this was because of us, but in the transparency section of the Technology manifesto just published by the party, not only is our policy of publishing supplier payments over £500 incorporated, but also our policy of publishing all councillor expenses (as opposed to just the salary/allowances and total of other claims which is already statutory).

Sorry for the lack of updates, I’ve had quite a busy week!

The Most Important News Via The BBC

Posted by davidburbage on March 2, 2010

Soldier killed in Afghanistan? Winston Churchill (grandson of the WWII PM) dies? Agreement on TV debates for the coming election? 700+ Chile earthquake deaths and aftermath? Tories back at 7% lead in the opinion polls?

Nope, it’s none of those. It’s that the BBC is closing a couple of minor digital radio stations and promising some jam tomorrow in terms of reducing expenditure and bloat . . .  but still spending all of the license fee, naturally.
